I joined the Air Force after high school. I was an electronic countermeasures specialist (ECM)/instructor on the B-52 and B-1B Bombers. I loved it and the people that I served with. I served in Grand Forks, North Dakota (where I met my wife Teri) and Denver, Colorado. I left the Air Force in 1986 and have worked for Ricoh Americas Corporation since.
I just retired from coaching girls basketball at the high school level. My New Oxford team finished 17-7. Great group of young ladies who have allowed me to really enjoy coaching.
My wife Teri has worked as a Physical Therapist at Hanover Hospital for over 20 years. As a result, she knows more people in Hanover than I do. Our daughter Brittany is an elementary education teacher at Eastern Lancaster County School District after graduating from South Western and then Lebanon Valley College. She played basketball, ran track and cross country, and was a member of the marching band. She was selected as the Female Scholar Athlete her senior year. She is about to complete her 6th year as an elementary education teacher. She is married to James Chernigo who also works in the Eastern Lancaster County School District. So proud of her.
Teri and I like to run and I have had the wonderful experience to run a marathon with both my wife (Steamtown Marathon) and daughter (Country Music Marathon). I have run 7 marathons total and I ran my first ultra marathon in November 2007 at the JFK 50-miler. That was 2 weeks after I ran the New York City Marathon, which was the most incredible experience that a runner could have.
